Open up the Sample Plan called "17 Optimized Tests Generated by Hexawise."

Click on the name or the plan and then click on the green "Make and Editable Copy" button.

Before making any changes, generate a set of 3-way tests.

Click on the Auto-Scripts screen.

Export the existing set of tests into Excel.

Open up the Auto-scripts tab in Excel and note that all 500 plus test steps (e.g. 9 steps X 63 tests) have been immediately generated at the push of a button.

Now modify this set of tests to include a few new Auto-Scripted steps.

Go to the Define Inputs screen and add the parameter "Flood Zone."

  • Add the Parameter "Flood Zone" to the plan.
  • Before adding the Values, think about how you want the wording of the test script to appear.
  • Let's say we want the test script to read "Select 'Flood Zone' radio button" when the property is in a flood zone and "Do not select 'Flood Zone' radio button" when the property is not in a flood zone.
  • Add two Values to your plan for the Parameter "Flood Zone": Select and Do not select.

Add the parameter in the Define Inputs screen called "Fixed vs Variable Loan Type"

  • Add the Parameter "Fixed vs Variable Loan Type" to the plan.
  • Before adding the Values, think about how you want the wording of the test script to appear.
  • Let's say we want the test script to read 'In the loan type selector, choose Fixed" or "In the loan type selector, choose Variable." ¬†
  • Add two Values to your plan for the Parameter "Fixed vs Variable Loan Type": Fixed and Variable.
  • Now move the Parameter "Fixed vs Variable Loan Type" from the end of plan higher so that it appears with the other Parameters that involve loan characteristics.

Your plan should now look like this:

Create a new set of 3-way tests

Go to the Auto-Scripts screen.

Create an Auto-Script for the Flood zone step. After step 9, click on "Add a Step."

Sometimes, we'll want the Auto-Script to  begin with Select. Other times, we'll want to begin it with "Do not select."

Replace the "_____" in the sentence above with the name of the appropriate Parameter, {Flood Zone}

  • Once you add the correct Auto-Script instructions, it will read {Flood Zone} 'Flood Zone' radio button.

Now add the second Auto-Script step, for the "Fixed vs Variable Loan Type" Parameter.

At the bottom of Step #10 (that you just added), click on "Add New Step"

Move this newly-added Auto-Script step up to the 7th step in your plan.

To move the Auto-Script step up, click on the up arrows.

Generate a new set of 3-way tests.

  • Export your tests.
  • Examine your updated Auto-Script steps.
